About Glen Copeland - the "gc" in gcd3

Glen Copeland, president of gcd3 has been working with computers since first playing with a Tandy TRS-80 in the early 1980's. His professional career began in the late 80's when he worked in sales for Cambridge North America, importers of the first Macintosh compatible laptop, the Cambridge Z88 by Sir Clive Sinclair. Later he moved into tech support, helping solve problems for the likes of Harry Anderson and Mel Tourme.

In the early 90's Glen became certified as an Apple Computer Macintosh Systems Technician with additional certificates in Apple laser printers and the original Macintosh Portable. Eventually Glen would start Copeland Computer Services, providing on-site service to Macintosh users in Central Maine, and designing a custom database solution that managed maintenance and marketing of the worlds first in-store listening kiosks at Elfin Music Company.

During this period Glen gained valuable experience in the printing industry while working part-time at a local print shop, and then full-time on the night-shift in the composing department of the Kennebec Journal.

In the mid 90's when Elfin Music Company relocated to Sarasota, Florida, Glen followed and soon opened Copeland Marketing Services, the precursor to gcd3. While continuing to service Macintosh and PC Compatible computers, he began to shift into design and marketing. He designed album covers and a web site for Elfin Music Company, and soon took on his largest project to date, an online catalog of over 400 pages for a "Bradenton electronics company."

From 2002 to 2005 Glen worked at a "Bradenton electronics company", designing CD-ROM, print and web catalogs, multimedia presentations, printed sales materials, trade show booth elements, lead follow up campaigns, custom database solutions tied into their manufacturing system for online stock-checks and more efficient order picking, even a couple of plush toy mascots used as trade-show giveaways. Glen was also the IT Director for a "Bradenton electronics company", overseeing a complete upgrade of the entire network and manufacturing software.

Having gained valuable new experience, in 2005 the time had come for Glen to return to his own business, which brings us to gcd3.
